So what then is the difference? This is a fair tobacco, but honestly it is beyond overrated. There is a SUBTLE spiciness noticible from time to time. One word of caution however, unless your familiar with a Krumble Kake type of tobacco, take heed as to the method of loading your bowl, simular to DBE, in that the bowl can be over packed! Just a quick observation about the soapy taste sometimes reported. Considering only 4 of the 20 ounces were enjoyable bringing the cost to 21.27 per ounce of smokable tobacco, 2 stars here is very generous. The tobacco itself is very delicious. Cut to the chase - highest recommendation for an oriental/latakia/virginia smoke. This is nothing more than a one dimensional Latakia bomb. I am perplexed by the varied opinions & differences in defining the quality, or lack thereof about Penzance & after reading most all of the reviews, I've reached a conclusion there's simply a lack of "Quality Control" as each batch gets totally opposing reviews on taste, flavoring & strength declarations. Opening the tin was a revelation of sortsI remember the first time I smelled Latakia, and the second, the third.wonderfully unique stuff. I love the crumble cake, which makes packing, lighting, and smoking a breeze. Good as it was, I could still taste the latakia two days later despite intervening meals and brushing of teeth.
